Sunshine Division collected 1,700 pounds of food at the Oregon International Auto Show Feb. 22-25 through reduced ticket prices in exchange for food donations. Food drive partner, the Safeway Foundation, also donated a dollar for every item of donated food!

Sunshine Division’s Marketing & Communications Manager, David Mann says it’s food drives like this that help make their mission possible. They distribute approximately 250,000 pounds of food per month through pantry locations, home deliveries, and partnership with the Portland Police Bureau who store food boxes at each police precinct that can be dispatched to people in need at any time.

Sunshine Division has provided food and clothing assistance to struggling local families and individuals since 1923. It launched an expanded emergency food delivery program in 2020, at the height of the pandemic. Since then, Sunshine Division has provided more than 7 million meals to over 300,000 households.
