The INEOS Grenadier joins the Oregon International Auto Show this year with a no-nonsense 4×4 SUV that’s just arriving at US dealerships. RTGT | INEOS Grenadier is debuting this new rig in Oregon. If the outdoors calls you, this new manufacturer wants to help you answer that call.

Whether you plan to climb mountains, haul a boat, or put it to work on the farm, the Grenadier has been built to be a versatile, highly adaptable tool. It’s built for serious off-road capability while offering smooth on-road comfort and handling. It comes in three trims and can be customized in ways that blend the trims.

  • The base model Grenadier is a stripped-back workhorse built for you to configure to your exact needs. This 4×4 station wagon has five seats and is designed to balance payload and passenger carrying capability, without compromising comfort.
  • The Grenadier Trialmaster is built for – and tested on – the most extreme off-road conditions. This rig is built to ensure your adventures have no limits. It’s named after the iconic Belstaff Trialmaster Jacket which debuted in 1948 and was designed to cope with the grueling conditions of the Scottish Six Days Trial.
  • The Grenadier Fieldmaster provides a refined and comfortable journey no matter the destination or road. It’s named after the streamlined Belstaff Fieldmaster Jacket. Some of the vehicle’s most impressive achievements stem from testing in on-road drivability and dynamics.

INEOS Chairman and CEO, Sir Jim Ratcliffe says the new 4×4 was inspired by a 2017 conversation with friends in the Grenadier pub, its namesake. Since then, the Grenadier team has worked to overcome challenges and bring it to market.

The Grenadier is inspired by the OG Defender, a modernized version of the Defender that Land Rover chose not to build. Production of the Defender ended in 2016.
